REAL talk: the other day someone called me a picky eater. I was gobsmacked. (side note: what a fun word that is!)

When I asked them what they meant, they said “well, you only eat healthy food”. Hmmmm...

And you know what? I get what t...

Nutrition intervention studies have linked good skin health with higher vegetable and fruit intake. Although there are several components in veggies and fruits that could be working together to give your skin a boost (e.g. vitamin C + vitamin E), vitamin C status is closely linked with veggie and fruit intake.

Do you remember when healthy food had a bad reputation for being boring and bland? Well no more! Gorgeous plates of healthy food inspire you to eat well!

Planning a last minute road trip? No snacks prepared? No problem! Here are 10 grab and go pre-packaged snacks that are actually good for you!

There’s one thing about road trips and me that drives @DietitiansHusband crazy. Okay, there’s probably more than one thing, but the one thing that bugs him the most is that I can’t go anywhere without snacks. I’m like a professional snack packer.  Truly, it drives him…nuts.

But he sure does appreciate it when we’re five...

Do you reach for a sweet treat when you’re stressed? Do you find yourself eating too much and then feeling even more stressed? You’re not alone.

Eating to comfort stress is called emotional...

Having said that, smoothies can be a fantastic way to jam a whole lot of goodness into one cup!

Take this Blueberry Blast Smoothie for example:

  • It’s packed with whole foods that provide nutrients that promote immune system healt...

Resolving to eat better doesn't mean you have to revolutionize your diet! Like the tortoise and hare story goes, slow and steady wins the race. Here are three small tweaks you can stick with!

As a dietitian, I hear a lot of talk about weight gain at this festive time of the year. A quick online search for “holiday weight gain” brought up 2,040,000 results (in 0.60 seconds!). Wowza!

What’s the worry?

There’s a nasty rumour going around that people gain between five to ten pounds over the holidays. Not so. Research shows that it’s closer to about one to two pounds.

That doesn’t sound so bad, right?

It’s true that a little extra holiday cheer at a part...

The festive season is in full swing over here. I’ve baked over 10 dozen cookies, hosted a cookie swap, enjoyed a couple of holiday lunches, and have a party coming up on the weekend. And it’s only the first week of December!

Without a few strategies in place, festive cheer could quickly squash my healthy habits.

Sure, a holiday party or two won’t break your healthy living bank. But, if you’re attending a year’s worth of parties in one month, here are my 10 to...
